if I am spending $18k-$19k, I wouldn't want either one. id buy a base veloster. actually, I did buy a base veloster over the juke 18 months ago.

I buy a yaris so I can drive a $14k car for 10+ years and 200,000 miles.

Factory 6 speed + turbo, love it.

Only once moderately to heavily modified do I start to care for its appearance. Out the door from the dealer, not so much.

Not a fan of either car, but I'd definitely go Toyota.

The Juke is pretty cool. I've driven the regular and Nismo versions (both had CVT). The Juke is a gas hog. The Juke SL I reviewed got 17 mpg. The Nismo version got about 19-20 IIRC.

It's totally different than the Yaris; really a night and day difference.

A 2014 Juke SV 6MT goes for $20,990 MSRP. A Yaris SE is quite a bit less expensive.

Have you looked at the Chevy Sonic with the 1.4-liter turbo?

well here in Canada they both go for same money Yaris SE is 19k so is Juke also i work at a dealer so i can get either at dealer cost....i would stick with 6spd and 2 wheel drive ..just need to see if the have resolved the timing chain problems with Juke i hear the are braking at 30k and up and Nissan is being an ass about it.
Just an idea...dont get me wrong love my Toyota ease of working on it and reliable car ...as for Nissan who knows.
Chev never only if its truck..worked for GM and nothing but problems.

This year it is the same story, the Versa is outselling all of its major competitors by a good margin. What is even more impressive is the fact it is still the sales leader despite there being no 2013 Versa hatchback.

^ I am frankly speaking shocked how much issues new nissans have.. but anyways one gets so much more buying a juke as compared to yaris

Keep in mind if you live in heavy traffic like I do in San Francisco then it doesn't matter if you have 400hp or 100hp most cars are stuck at stop and go lights or highway commute traffic at the same speed. Which car is more practical for your needs. Gas mileage wise and car payment wise. Heavy traffic in manual trans? I have a gas hog turbocharged thirsty 2013 wrx as my other car just thought Id toss out my experience with it, im always worried about parking and door dings.

The Juke looks like it suffers from a bee sting. Just my observation.

In recent years, I've had 2 new Nissans, both plagued with problems... big and small. Nissan America was quite frankly useless at resolving issues, and I had to hire a lawyer to have one of the cars finally declared a lemon; the other I sold at a huge loss (with just 6000 miles on the clock) because it was just problem after problem after problem... Although Nissans may look pretty good, provide very attractive interior finishes, and substantial standard equipment, I would NEVER buy another Nissan product!
