I'm a soon to be proud Yaris owner,I'm trying to think of what group or cd I should play in my Yaris first, who should have the honor of being the first CD that my Yaris plays? That is until I can get my Sirius player in the car :)

I'm thinking either Metallica,Ozzy,Sabbath,ACDC,?

I'm an oldie but my first CD was the new John Prine one. Very good btw.

I am surprised how good the stock system is (for a economy car). For the sedan you have to like it as it looks like it would be very difficult to put in a stereo.

Gin and Juice...

No one is going to understand this.

Speaking of music, I'll be picking up my Yaris in a few days. Is there a cable included for the aux port, or will I need to buy one?

YotaYarisUSA

sorry no cable  ,but you do get the aux jack and most cars don't have them.

I have a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player will that work with this car? If it will, where can I purchase the adapter?

All MP3 players, etc. attach through the AUX port using a standard 1/8 inch stereo plug which you should be able to buy just about anywhere.

Forget the exact actual first CD I played... but it was trance music baby!

My Yaris lives and FEEDS on trance! Trance is key! House fuels her too sometimes! ;)

Now that I think about it, Johan Gielen was prolly the first DJ to grace my car's system! :D

IN SESSION... IN SESSION... WITH... JOHAN GIELEN !!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Woot woot, a EDM head in the Yaris forum!

Trance is key (and house to a lessor extent!)

Okay... so this is like a two way plug? One part plugs into the MP3 player and the other end of the plug goes into the AUX port?

Afterall, the stock is made by Panasonic, not the greatest, but ain't that bad either.

Music...... I am one of those listen to almost anything that move (Anything from, Rock, Rap, Chinese, R&B, Metal, Classical, Jazz, Sports Radio, Punk, VERY lil pop, trance and basically NO country. Since I use a transmitter, I do soup it into my mp3 player and feed it into a channel that not being in use.

The first was - pardon the spam - a CD that I produced Casey Fallen (http://www.CaseyFallen.com).

The second was Franz Ferdinand. Death Cab, the Neville Brothers, and the aforementioned John Prine are in the next bunch.

Not too much Canadian music there from you Canadians, eh?

Yes. The ends are identical.

As for music... so far what's gotten played while driving off the top of my head is Cursive, Nomeansno (including the album with Jello Biafra), 31knots, The Constantines, The Alkaline Trio, Tool, Metallica, Studio One Disco Mix... undoubtedly other stuff I'm not remembering.

Well once I get my Yaris I will be listening to what I listen to in my 240sx.

Metallica, AC/DC, Panic! at the disco, anything good. However, I think Metallica's Fuel would be kinda funny to listen to in that car.

The first song played in my Yaris was 'pure' by the lightening seeds (that was also the first song I played when I got my '91 civic, and also when I got my '00 Xterra, so it's kind of a tradition in my new vehicles to play that song).
Then I hooked up the sat. radio into the aux plug and was jamming to first wave on sirius.

I think that I didn't have any CDs handy when I first drove out of the lot. But I believe the first Cd I ever played on it was an MP3 CD with a lot of the great Argentinean Rock Band, Divididos.
I usually listen rock, Pop (like Coldplay), etc. Depends a lot on my mood actually.

I don't remember if I have already posted in this thread... but...

Progressive metal (not what you would expect), euro trance (sometimes, because when the audio is high fidelity, the Toyota 6-cd stereo actually sounds amazing in such a small car), and a little bit of this and that... Mainly the many genres of metal, though.

Since the cd changer can read MP3 cds, I just burn cds with the songs that I have ripped from albums I have previously bought, stick them on MP3 discs and now instead of just 6 cd changer, I can fit about 4-6 albums on each disk so it's more like a 36 CD changer. It's great!

I'm not much for listening to music when I drive, really. Some talk radio, some sports talk radio or a ball game. I might load up some science podcasts. Yes, I'm geeky. It keeps my whole brain occupied, both the part of my brain that thinks in words and the part that does the mechanical tasks of driving. YMMV, of course.

If I do listen to music it will be some old school stuff like Bachman Turner Overdrive, Foghat or CCR. Good music for cruising.

I listen to rock mostly, there's a station I get, rock937fm.com, that I usually have on and the music is pretty good. I also listen to CDs by Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Cold, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and others. Much of the newer stuff just doesn't do anything for me.

Lately, I've also been listening to Pimsleur Dutch, a set of CDs for learning the Dutch language in 30 minutes a day. I'm actually starting to understand it. I guess I can be geeky at times too.

You know how people blare hip hop music? I blare French music. There's nothing like watching a girl blaring accordions and bopping her head.

But I generally listen to:

Mogwai

Dan Deacon

Deerhunter

Right now I'm listening to "Bottleneck John's" new CD and loving it. I highly recommend it to anyone who lies acoustic bluesy stuff.

Reliving my Sarah Brightman collection.

Great voice

I listen to eurobeat, nothing beats it in terms of JDM!! But alot of eurobeat sucks, only the Initial D collection and nonstop Super Eurobeat collections are good. Tho its interesting to see the evolution of eurboeat from disco like to where it is now.

the first song my yaris played when i bought her was "i want a car" by an israeli rock band called "mashina" (=car in russian language ).

usually my mp3 is giving my car a taste of almost everything:
trance
dance
israeli songs and bands
rock (the killers, poets of the fall, aerosmith, bon jovi)
modern music
exception:no classic music or jazz (except "take 5" of dave brubeck quartet).can't stand it.
