Going from lowered to factory ride. (Newbie)

I purchased a 2007 gray 2 door hb last summer. Very cool little car. I love it in so many ways. But the problem I'm having is this. The car has after market 16" wheels on it. And has been lowered with ds210's coils. (I think that's the right name for them). It looks awesome and rides good and handles well on smooth minimal bumpy pavement. But hits hard on pavement changes and on bridges on the interstate. The front drivers tire rubs on hard hits. The previous owner even took out the inner plastic fender wells. I would like to put factory ride back on this car since I love it so much. I hate to sacrifice the look of it but I do alot of driving and can't handle it much more. Can you guys give me some advice on where I can find factory springs or lowered springs that will give me a factory ride? I don't want to pay new factory spring prices when I can buy a full set of lowered springs for alot cheaper. I'm already prepared to buy new struts. Also tell me how to post a pic and I'll show you guys the look of my yaris

I'd love to keep the lowered look. But need a better ride

Tanabe DF210 (10% stiffer than stock) or NF210 (5% stiffer than stock) provide a ride that is pretty close to factory. So given that you don't like the ride, a few things can be going on. One is whether your tires are OEM diameter. Thinner tires can make the ride more harsh. Tires that are wider can make the ride more harsh.

Here is the information you haven't provided yet:
1. Wheel width and offset (and brand and model if you know)
2. Tire size, brand and model
3. Struts and shocks are OEM, or aftermarket?

1. Change the springs out for something that doesn't lower it as much:
Tanabe NF210 or Eibach Prokits or H&R.
2. Find stock springs. I may have some laying around.

If the front wheels are rubbing and the liners have been removed, you are rubbing on the fenders. To confirm this, apply blue painter's tape to the fender edges and drive around (make sure you rub some!) You should see the tire marks on the tape (or it will be worn/rubbed off) wherever the rubbing is occurring.

1. Go to a thinner tire as mentioned above
2. Add -1 or -1.5 camber to the front wheels to clear the fender. This will also improve handling but isn't enough to cause much tire wear over time.

just get proper tire size ...and ur be ok also see if the original bump stops have been cut down if not ur hitting them more like riding on them on ruff roads....tires for sure tho...cos my car is low and has no problems here in collingwood and we have some bad country roads and train crossing whre u can catch air..lol

i hate stock height of Yaris would never go back at most one can use trd springs front .5 inch rear 1 inch i think ..i say do the tires ..period.


PS i have a set of stock springs of my car they have 109km on them ....but im in ontario,canada.

Wouldn't 205/50's be the wrong profile? I have 205/45/16 and that is almost dead on to stock rolling diameter. the lower profile might stop the scrubbing. There may also be spacers pushing the wheels out to far causing the scrub.

^ That's one reason I asked about wheel size and offset. Hub spacers couldn't be seen from the outside.

I've got stock springs too (north carolina) with ~25k miles on them. You literally can't give the damn things away...

I for one, would keep the springs.

I suspect the struts/shocks are shot.

Throw on a set of Tokico Blues.
