CANADA!

I spent the weekend in Vancouver, B.C. and noticed almost immediately that there were a TON of Yarii around including the Echo hatchback. Seriously: I think the Yaris is the official car of Vancouver.

Also saw a bunch of other small cars, but Toyota must be the top-selling vehicle in this city.

Yea for Canada!

After selling my WRX (for school), I find the Yaris easier to maneuver around town. Parking is a breeze and gas is also super cheap since I don't need no pro-tune 94/91 octane.

Most likely less money in our pockets to spend on things than Americans.

The disaster that is Obamacare is going to diminish our spending capacity as a nation, thereby reducing much of our pocket change and disposable income.
I don't know how much you have to pay, but in Germany (and lots of other countries, of course) it's established for some decades now and I don't think that it's a bad thing.
IMHO the US would have more money if they didn't dump it in their paranoid war against terrorism ;)

Back on topic, I've noticed the Yaris is quite popular in Europe, the UK and Japan as well. I see them all the time when I travel there, but they're still rare birds in the US. I usually see about 1-2 per week down here in San Antonio on average...

The Limo 2,

No worries. The disaster that is Obamacare is going to diminish our spending capacity as a nation, thereby reducing much of our pocket change and disposable income. Seeing that a very large portion of our GDP comes from our capacity to buy things, I prognosticate that there will be more Yaris drivers here in the States in the not too distant future. Ahhhh, democracy in action. Ain't it swell?

Hmmm.........The last 5 years have been my highest grossing!! I was down 30% during the GWB years, after record years during Clinton.

Whats wrong with this picture?:iono:

When I was there a while ago the only ones I saw were rental cars. My plan was to buy a cheap yaris down there and drive it home, but alas, they were cheaper here.

My insurance is still too high :(

I noticed after this horrible weather I hope it's not rust under the head lights or leaves, I just had it rust sprayed. :( I have to do a deeper inspection.

Due largely to your talent I'm sure......but QE1, QE2, and QE3 can't have hurt ......a shot in the arm to the real estate and financial markets. I've benefitted as well, but I can't help but wonder if it is a morally indefensible policy (broadly speaking of course, not individual citizens lawfully taking advantage of different situations).

Right, but isn't medical school and some other post secondary education free of tuition as is the case in Sweden? That changes the overall equation a bit.

Couldn't agree more with your last sentence, though .

Im tempted to drive a junker across the boarder, leave it there, and return with an ECHO/Yaris/diesel ECHO/diesel Yaris/diesel SMART car. From a private owner or something. Just transfer the plates y'know.

Then just use the registration from my legally purchased/registered/titled car of the same name.

I bought a used ST1300 in TX, flew down there, and rode it hime to NJ. I used the plates/insurance card/ and registration from my Suzuki. On the way I fell over on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The bike weighs 700 pounds and I couldnt pick it up. The park workers who hellped me right it said they had to call the cops to report it and inventigate it. They thought I had an accident which I didnt.

I died a thousand deaths waiting for the police. When the lady Virginia State cop arrived she said "Do you want me for anything?"

I said "No ma'am!" and was on my way...

I only know the situation here, but you need quite good marks to be allowed to study this, and still you have to pay a lot of money.
For medicine studies, it's about 500€ study fee (which goes to the university) per semester and additional fees for mensa, bus ticket etc.
Because electronic engineering (what I'm studying) attracts only a few people, you have no numerus clausus nor a dedicated study fee, I only pay ~220€ per semester for the mensa (so they can sell the food cheaper) and the bus/train ticket (sadly I can't opt this one out).
All in all, studying here isn't for free at all, you can get a credit, but you have to pay it back of course.
