I had to take apart my dials to trim some of the plastic away bc I bought smd led for my interior. Well I got my dials back together but the temp gauge has a notch half way through cold, right in The middle of cold/hot and half way through hot. What did I do wrong?

Are the notches there when the cable is disconnected from the control?

Yes.
OK. the gear train is off. If you turn it at all while it is apart that occurs. You will have to pull it back apart again and experiment with it. I haven't messed on up in a while, but I don't recall there being alignment marks, so it's a bit of a hassle to get it back right. After the first time that I did that I learned to mark the gears when I took one apart.

Thanks scott, im pretty mechanically inclined myself but I could not for the life of me figure out why the dial was notchey. I took it apart and put it back together a few times and now the notch is gone, weird! The dial had full range and motion just notchey. Everything is good now though thanks.
