Toyota factory armrest install.
Just in case anyone needs to know how to do this, it’s simple.

Fold and slide both seats all the way to the front which will expose the seat tracks. Place the wire retainer end under the seat track as shown starting with the drivers side followed by the passenger side.

Place the armrest base in the factory cup holder with the screw hole facing the back.

Press the wire forward over the base and into the groove. This holds the base firmly in place.

Place the armrest over the base and insert the screw to hold it in place.

dont try this with it all assembled, like i did. you need to take it all apart to get the wire in the holes. I just wish it wasnt so darned high!! I would like to lower it like 2", not sure who designed it but its just doesnt feel right..

Exactly, the new one I got is about 2 inches lower. Love it!

Which one did you go with? The one on ebay with the storage box or the JDM? or other?

The ebay one, like this one.

Got it from Thailand in less than a week. Fits great, lower elbow rest with better padding, and of course storage. I recommend it.

I'm still thinking about that one. I might end up with one myself. Thanks.

Thank you for this DIY, Peter. I just used it to install a second-hand factory armrest after I couldn't quite puzzle out the retaining clip.

can you throw up a link to the one shown on the previous post? I went on eBay and saw several choices, and I'm sure some of them are not as nice as that.

The armrest was a selling point vs the Fit, I drive long distances and it's super handy, even my passengers use it.

I would go with OEM, it looks and fits the interior's desgin better IMO
