Check Engine light on after Water Pump change

Is this normal?
I am sure i have enough coolant i drained 3.5 quarts added 5.

your thoughts and opinions?

Best to scan it ....see no reason why it would happen did u plug in all the plugs for altinator ....also did u let all the air out of the system.

Definitely not normal. My bet is that you damaged the oil control valve while tightening the belt. Look next to the alternator at the cylindrical device that sticks out of the block to see if you damaged it or its connector.

Sorry it took a bit to get back.....apparently when i drained the coolant, it left a large "bubble" where the coolant goes. I had to turn the car off and let it cool....the cooling let the bubble get "burped" (my dad's term). Since then there have been no issues with the water pump or coolant.
