ah, yes I guess I could, I'm really surprised you are going with the Honda, I just think it's kinda a goofy car, little oversized for me but I am guessing you have gotten bored with the Yaris?

So what are the reasons for this? Bigger aftermarket for the FIT, is that why?
I know what it is...its because Honda offers the paddle shifters:laugh:
Anyway best of luck! Sorry to see you leaving!!

What are we going to do without Chris' guidance (and DIY guides)??
:'(
And for Pete's sake... the Fit???
Hey, the Fit is a nice car, with some fatures that, if they matter for your needs, can certianly justify the extra cash. Just make sure you get the Sport. That base model is not much of a looker. And congrats!

The Fit's interior is WAY cooler than the Yaris, but I wouldn't be caught dead in that micro-van. I actually WANTED to like it better, and just couldn't.
However, opinions are like assholes... everybody's got one. If you DO get a Fit, have fun with it!

Fit does seem to be an attractive alternative to the Yaris, especially how the aftermarket japanese tuners embrace this vehicle with aftermarket parts.
However, i heard the real life gas mileage is not what it seems. In Canada, they don't even quality for the eco-rebate, where the Yaris is qualified for $1000 cash back. There is rumour that Honda is considering taking out the side airbags (i think) to increase fuel mileage in order to qualify for the rebate, as a way of attracting more buyers.

So they're only interested in one time buyers and not repeat buyers... dead people don't need cars.

The Yaris doesn't come with side airbags standard in some markets...

Oh, I know, we don't have them standard here... I was just making a comment about Honda backpedaling on safety. I don't see how it could help their MPG nearly enough to justify it.

Chriss you still want that FULL MOON Hub Caps? if not let me know.
Yeah, I'm a little baffled by the idea of cutting them to gain MPG. The Yaris, with them, doesn't seem to take a big fuel economy hit.

I am not hearing negative feedback from Yaris Drivers however.
I am happy with the Yaris. I chose Yaris over all other hatch options out there, for me this was the best choice.
My neighbor ,she, drives a Honda FIT. Guess it was what ,she, wanted. It looks good on, her:smile:

I know I would enjoy either car. I like the 4 doors of the Fit and the interior options. The more I see the Fit the less I like the lines of the exterior when stock though. Throw a few body mods on and it looks hot though. Not to mention better aftermarket and engine swapability.

I did drive a Fit when they first came out in my market, I noticed that the car is really go-cart like, reminded me of when i was a kid, and went to Kart-world...anyway, I do like the car, but I didnt want to pay 16k for the sport package, plus i dont like them now, too many of them... The dealer cant hold onto these, 20 in 20 out...like in 2 days.
I also have a grudge on Honda, It seems that too many people want a Honda, cause they are the traditional race/rice car. Same thing, they all are the same, last a while, can go fast with enough upgrades...but I wanted the different of many, so Yaris was for me. Even with 2 other Black Yaris hatches in my area, I dont care...still there is 4 Fits near me, within a 10 mile area...
the new slogen of Yaris should be..:
Be Different, Fit yourself into a Yaris.
Altogether the choice is your Chris, I know one thing is for sure, that you will be truely missed here on Yarisworld, All those DIY threads, and think of the Sombraro, I will miss it most of all. I want to see more White Yaris with black badges. With that said, dont go. please...think of the children.

Leaving a Toyota for a Dodge? I don't care how fast they are, that's a HUGE down grade. Now going from a Toyota to a Honda or vice versa, that's an equal swap. Unless you get a Ridgeline, that's not even a truck, it's a joke. Sorry if you like those, but if you want a truck, make sure a get low range and a real frame.

here's a guess...changing to the FIT because of an addition to the family? anywho, the only reason i opted not to get the FIT was because 1. my family and friends don't like the way it looks, and 2. it's a Honda and i have something against Honda (thanks to Civics and Integs). but yeah, i was actually thinking about getting a FIT Sport before those two reasons.

Mine also. Plus the Yaris gets better MPG.
I bought my Yaris through Costco, $300 over invoice.
The Fit deal through Costco was for MSRP, that was the deal since there is a run on these cars and nobody has them in stock so they are selling for $2k over MSRP.
I have to say though that since getting it I'm very happy with my choice. I was expecting just transportation and instead I got a car that's very fun to drive.

I must say though that with a wife and 2 kids a Fit may have made more sense to me as well. I think my kids are bummed because they can't put their windows down like they could in my Tacoma Double Cab. A Yaris 5 door would be even better though.
