petrol smell on start up

i had recently notice that on startup, i smell a big smell of petrol from exhaust... is this normal? while driving it goes

Is it a third generation or older ? I've had it as well, my car sits out in -34C temps, the day I see 7C after this winter will be literally summer. Otherwise I can only assume that it is burning so hard that for the first five minutes there is an odor in the car.
