Alright, I've read my manual, I've searched the forum, and I'm feeling pretty dumb.

2006 Canadian Hatchback

High-beams work (I changed those in the past year)
Regular Headlights do not work.
Just changed the parking lights which were also burnt out, thinking that was my issue.

I tried the parking lights because the manual only list "headlights", nothing more specific. The same bulbs listed under "headlights" were the high-beams I bought recently, so I have no idea what I'm looking for.

EDIT: The headlight catalog at Canadian Tire mentioned the headlights were "dual beam" and this site (http://www.philipsautolighting.com/bulb-lookup.php?make=100&model=2581&year=2006&trim=15) says the beam should be high and low beam. Perhaps I bought the wrong bulbs? Perhaps they are hooked up wrong?

Thanks for reading my post

The Yaris headlights are dual beam within the same bulb. 9003 is the correct bulb type. What were the ones that you purchased?

 Scratch part of what I just posted on Kal-El's Mileage thread. Here I thought my High beams had lasted 7+ years, when in reality they were getting refreshed every time (only 4 x total as each side now on 2nd replacement after the bulbs put on the car when it was manufactured) a burnt out low beam was replaced . Of course, it is indeed 9003 (the 9003 code even appears on my AutoZone receipt from earlier today), and is now working perfectly on my Yaris.

Thanks for the input.

Unfortunately, I can't recall the type of bulb. I just bought what the back of the manual specified. HB2 bulbs, apparently. (http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM52703U/pdf/7-3.pdf) That's all I remember focusing on, 9003 doesn't ring a bell. I didn't keep the packaging, either.

So it's possible that I purchased the wrong bulbs, but I'm sure my lights were working normally after they were put in.

I just find it strange that the high beams work fine, and the normal intensity fails to fire if it's the same bulb.

Perhaps I'll just buy more lights, but I've been trying to avoid that because I'm not convinced my current lights are dead.

Did you keep the receipt? The '9300' is on my receipt (as well as the package).

. I like the picture WRX posted on Deathegg's thread on 12-7-13 (with red labeling and arrows) that illustrates this (that thread has posts from today as well).

I just changed mine (07 Sedan Canada). 9003 is the one to go. I got the Sylvania xtravision from Canadian Tire for $30, fits perfectly and apparently have the same color as the original bulb.
