Has anyone tried these with factory steel wheels? I am curious what it would look like.

Do you mean these?

Nah, the Baby Moons would just cover the center/lug area of the wheel. It was popular back in the day.

Oh, like the old volkswagen hubcaps I guess? Hmmm, that's a look I haven't seen on this car.

Thats what I am talking about! Does anyone have a lead on custom hubcap manufacturer?

I've been looking for the same w/beauty rings....w/no luck. but I did find these:

http://www.hubcapmike.com/smoothie_hubcaps.html

...sort of the concept in a generic way (actually like the wheel color between the moon and ring better..lot cleaner look). The problem that I see is the stock wheels have no 'lumps' that a normal baby moon would attach to. I've been thinking of attaching a mount to the lugs themselves somehow...any other ideas?

The 15" beauty rings are out there, but the Baby Moons are tough to find. I read that someone is using the mini trailer hubcaps (almost the same) as baby moons from NAPA?

The stock Toyota rims have no way to mount small caps (completely smooth in the dish around the lugs) like american rims do. Thats why I was looking for a way/or adapter to attach to the lugs themselves.

The ones you want are WORK wheels from Japan. Googled a few distributers here in the US but none of them carried them in stock or even listed them. One of them had a link to Work of Japan which lists these 'Leadsled" wheels. Bet they could get them....I know I can't afford them!!!

I so thought Chino would be all over this one after out trip to Summit racing. We saw a set of Baby moon's in chrome 15x8 in our bolt pattern in an unknown offset.... tempting they were

Thanks BlackYaris...personally don't want 8" wide but worth checking out...I was thinking of contacting Stockton wheel, they claim they'll make wheels to suit..

the ones we saw were 8's but they were just a display, it was one of those wheels that came in just about every width and diameter under the sun, for those classic hot rodders, so you may still want to check them out, I seem to remember them being inexpensive

Good New or Bad...:iono:

The guy said:

Figure in the 19-20lbs range for the 15's. and mid 20's for the 17's.

Looking at about:
 15" $1370.00 shipped
 17" $2000.00 shipped

I was disappointed to figure out for myself today that baby moons won't work on the stock steel wheels. What a shame. I really don't like the stock plastic wheel covers, and baby moons would look great!

Well, not being able to use baby moons and not wanting to splurge for wheels, I went looking at wheel covers. To my surprise, my wife insisted she wanted those skull-and-crossbones ones with red eyes. So I ordered her some, and got some pimpin' Maltese cross spinners for mine.

OK, here's my wife's Yaris with her Jolly Roger wheel covers. A YARR-is:

Well, those are definitely the best 15", red-eyed, red-nosed, chrome-plated Jolly Roger hubcaps I've ever seen. I bet there aren't many (any?) other Yarii with these, though! +1 for uniqueness!

Now if you could get the eyes to light up at night. I like.

That would be great!

I'll bet they do light up by reflection if lit from the side by headlights.
