anyone tried 3m tape for side skirt would it hold? ,, broke a couple of pins which toyota dont have available for sale.
Yes 5yrs and still holding no pins just a thin strip of 3m tape down the length of the side skirt. I just added one extra screw underneath the rear, there was a factory screw hole there for something else.

It did not work for me. especially if you take out the fender liner. The front tires will kick rocks past the fender and in the door jams between the top of the side skirt that lays on the rocker panel and the bottom of the door. small rocks would get between the side skirts and rocker panel where the tape was and over time would come loose. I ended up just drilling holes and using some flat screws to hold the side skirt firmly to rocker panel.

3M should be okay. Sounds like you will be able to use tape in conjunction with the remaining pins you do have.

no, Just tape. I should have screwed it in first. After I screwed it in, it looked more flush and I didn't have any more issues. I do autocross alot and I have made some contact with a few cones in the past 2 years. If you have fiberglass skirts, be aware that rocks will eventually chip away the paint on them. I recommend using some form of clear vynl wrap on them to peek the paint together. Another thing I wish I did. My body kit is trash now..

well screw you guys and your OEM side skirts...

I put a thin strip of tape on the entire top edge of the side skirt I didn't put any on the spots where the body pins go. My car was standard not an 'S' so no holes for them anyway.

My original style RS spoiler has been held on with nothing but 3M for 6yrs. Rock solid.
There should be no issue with a skirt (along with pins). Just make sure you heat the surfaces where the tape is to be applied with a hair dryer. You want it warm.

I zip tied mine on the ends and have the 3m tape down the length of the rocker panel, but it's only been a few months and its already starting to come loose. I'm using an aftermarket skirt.

I had that part# too and should have given it to you. The one I gave you was for a "retainer", and the other a "clip". I made a judgement call on which one and was wrong . Good price, I had been given $4 each.
