Hello, first post here.

We purchased a used 2007 yaris a month ago. We had it inspected and everything seemed fine.

After about 2 weeks it suddenly would not start...
Turn the key light go on, radio works, headlights work, horn works... but no ignition. Not even a click of the starter motor. Investigation shows that the previous owner has played with the wiring under the dash (maybe removed an automatic starter?).

We rolled it down the street to the closest garage and when we got there it started up with an issue! What a bummer! :iono: couldn't even trouble shoot. I think it must be a loose wire, bad connection, or bad ground?

question is where should I start investigating?

Could it be the automatic shifter?
is there a switch that might not be fully engaged preventing ignition?
(similar to that which is on a clutch of a manual tranny)

Anyone have a ignition wiring schematic I could go through?

Thanks for any tips is advance!

Thom

I have resolved the issue, loose terminal on the starter motor. Secured it with duct tape :burnrubber:

Was it the small connector with the violet colored wire? That connector is easily damaged.
