I'm putting my car back together after doing the clutch and I ran into a problem. The nut for the tie rod on the passenger side is stuck and I'm just spinning the threaded part. Does anyone know a way around this, I really don't want to replace it since that'll be another adventure, please help:help::help:

I'm assuming there isn't a hex socket on the top like with the sway bar links, is there? If so, I'm not sure how you would keep it from rotating, aside from damaging the threads with vice grips or pliers.

I just looked at the spare steering rack that I have here, and the OEM tie rod ends on there do have the recessed hex socket on top of the threaded part. They had a bit of rust and dirt in them that made it hard to see.

got the nut off and going out to pick up a die to chase the threads. thanks CT Scott, I'll have to escavate to find the hex hole
