Radiator side air seal HELP!

My sister recently wrecked her car and to save money my father has been fixing it up in the garage. Now that he recently underwent surgery for a rutured disk in his neck, I've been trying to help get this thing on the road. Lots of parts back on and I'm nearly done...but i keep getting stuck with these damn radiator side air seals. The picture in the manual shows them on top of the metal bumper brace, but behind the styrofoam. They won't fit that way! I've tried every backwards,upwards and sideways iteration of the shape and nowhere do I get a good fit. I'm beginning to suspect I've got a piece for a different year or I've just gone crazy and need some time off. Either way here are some pics, help is appreciated!

thanks! Looks like I need to take the core support at least and possibly the radiator back out to get that in right? I'm not in front of the car anymore and I haven't worked on it much so I don't have a great mental image of what I need to do.
