After years of forcing the car to push around +sized wheels, I'd decided to return to OE sizing this year and see what happens. Struck a deal with Exiwolfman a while back and picked up these tiny suckers yesterday.

Bronze painted OE Prius wheels (don't know what vintage). 14X5.5 clad in 175/65/14 Hero rubber (don't know what those are but they sure run quiet).

Setup is 25lbs per corner. 8lbs lighter than my prior 17x7 Enkei PF01s wrapped in Kumho 215/40/17. Should also mention that these are 1.5lbs lighter than the 175/65/14 Goodyear Nordics on OE steelies that just came off for the summer.

Now to get my Meagan springs back on to get her squatting some. Crazy rear wheel tuck that I can't do much about. What you see is with 10mm spacers mounted. Eliminating my camber could help a bit I guess.

They look good. Pretty sure they'll look even better once you lower it a tad more. You should also probably feel the car to be much peppier now. Well done! :thumbsup:

yup..wheels and tires can make a huge difference that is for sure. When I moved back to 15" a couple years ago it was a drastic "upgrade" compared to being on the 18" I had been. Went from 52lbs per corner to near where you are. Will be interesting to see if your mpg does improve. I have made too many performance mods in between to tell in my case.

Doing a little research on Hero tires

Brief History

Hero Tires began as Nanchang Rubber Plant in 1956 producing galoshes and rubber shoes. A year later, it merged with Nanchang City Car Repair Plant and Third Rubber Plant and in 1960, began production of bias PCR tires. Production of agricultural tires soon followed and in 1977, Nanchang Rubber Plant was declared as one of the top 16 major tire manufacturers in China . Motorcycle tire production began in 1980 and in 1984; the company was renamed as JiangXi Rubber Plant.

In 1997, Federal Corporation acquired 100% ownership of JiangXi Rubber Plant and changed its name to JiangXi Federal Tire (JFT). Under Federal's leadership and management, JFT entered into commercial tire production. Beginning in 1999, it began mass production of Hero brand tires, launched 60 to 80 series radials, followed by 50/55 series and 40/45 series and also began mass production of Federal brand tires. Today, Hero has consolidated its tires into 5 major families to fully serve our customers worldwide.

keep us posted. You are doing 4% more mileage with these tires than with OEM 185/60R15, so you have to take this into consideration.

OEM is 175 65 14 they change size on 08 up to 185 60 15 ...its .5 deference in diameter

Exactly. The 2006 OE 175/65/14 Bridgestone Potenza mounted on steelies set the benchmark for me. MPG for every set of wheels I've had since are compared to the OE numbers, factoring in slight sizing discrepancies between setups.

When i used the 14 that Weeyari got from me my best tank full to empty was just under 800 km with one bar left ...that was mainly on country roads in my area and going to school part time in Toronto...average speed around 100 . I drive a 5 speed CE two door base , light and simple .

My best was 6L/100km, on 195/55R15 yokohama S.Drive @ 33PSI on my way to tdot. 120kmh with AC on.

Now that i do mostly urban driving with lots of stop and go, i avg 7L/100km in the summer.

That would give him worse mileage. Lighter and smaller is always better. It is almost impossible to beat 25lbs a corner. And the further from the center of the wheel the weight is the more gas it will use. And unsprung weight is always bad.

The wheels look good. And I am sure the car feels better in every way as well.

Two months running this setup and on average, slightly better f/e than I did with the 14" OE Bridgstone/Steelie combo.

...and yesterday, recorded my best ever of 5.06 l/100km (46.51 mpg) :biggrin: My prior best had been 6.11 l/100km

Bumper, lip and tail lights came from a 2010 RS. thebarber had been running the front bumper/lip from the same 2010 RS donor car.

Isn't getting 46 mpg great? And totally addictive. I keep looking at newer cars, but averaging evern 30 is just gross after being able to get 40+ without any real work.

07s (at least 3-door USDM models...mine included) with the optional convenience package also = stock 185/60-15 size tires.

Chile almost advanced against Brasil, I was rooting for them. Now it's Columbia vs Brasil, there was a better chance with Chile then Columbia. There could be a Germany vs Brasil match that will be too intense.
