Toyota's Mobility Initiative
(Thu 04 May 06)
Toyota is launching a range of mobility accessories for disabled owners of the Yaris, Corolla, Verso and RAV4 models. The first items on sale will be swivelling seats for the driver and/or front passenger, and in the case of the Verso and RAV4 there's also the option of a passenger seat which lowers well beyond its normal level outside the car and is then automatically lifted back in.
The seats, developed by Toyota, are to be part of its regular accessory list. This means that they can be specified in trim which matches that of the interior, and also that they can be fitted by all Toyota Centres in the UK.
This is part of an international programme which is being adopted first, among European importers, by Toyota GB and Toyota France. The official UK launch will be at the Mobility Roadshow, which runs from June 8-10 at Kemble airfield near Swindon.
