I have a 2007 Yaris sedan that had it's floors recently soaked due to water seeping in under the doors in a record rain. Luckily it didn't get high enough to damage anything mechanical or electrical. I got it detailed right away just to get the floor surface clean and dry, but unfortunately the underside of the carpet (padded backing) is still soaking wet and will soon start to mold and stink. From looking around online it appears replacement requires the two front seats to be removed along with other plastic molding/coveringj, removal of the old carpet, and then a new carpet kit draped across the floor and secured. Just the cabin interior is what I need, not the trunk. Anyone have an idea on costs? I would prefer to remove it and dry it out with fans and all that, but I live in NYC without a driveway, garage, blowers, etc. The car lives on the street. Full replacement seems to be the only option here unless I want the car smelling like old socks.

If you have the tools and time, I'd remove the carpet, take it to some detailing place and have THEM clean and dry it, and then re-install. Most likely less money than a full replacement.

Agreed. Many moons ago I bought a Honda Civic Wagon that had a carpet that smelled like sour milk and I pulled it and brought it to a carpet store and had them clean it like they would a venetian rug and for less than $50 I had a carpet that looked and smelled like new.
