Evening all. We just purchased a 2013 LE edition this evening and it didn't come with keyfob keys... just a plain key. Annoying yes.... but we got a good deal so I'm hoping it's fixable and not too involved. I'm seeing blanks on ebay at a decent price and something about a sequence to program the remote. Is it really that straight forward?

If it did not come with keyfobs then it almost definitely was not built with keyless entry. In that case the keyfobs will not help without also adding the keyless entry receiver and the body ECU that supports keyless entry.
If you would like to know for sure, PM me your VIN and I can tell you if your car has the keyless entry support or not.

Any chance to reprogram ecu that I can lock/unclock just trunk door, other must stay locked. I have dog cage inside the trunk and the summer coming, so this be a nice feature to have it. That i can leave trunk door open and other can i lock?

No. Unfortunately only the driver's door can be set to unlock separately.

That does mean that your car has the engine immobilizer (i.e. uses transponder keys). Like the keyless entry, your VIN indicates that your car does not have the immobilizer, so perhaps, like the immobilizer, yours actually does have the keyless entry receiver.
So, to be sure, you can check behind the driver's side C pillar cover to see if the little black box there is just the tire pressure receiver or is the combination tire pressure and keyless entry receiver.

Ok. Stopped by a Toyota dealership today and I do have all the parts in place. Is this as simple as getting a blank off ebay and having the key cut then doing the sequence to program? I didn't ask the dealer as I'm pretty sure they'd be more $$ than it absolutely needs to be.

You can purchase the blank, get it cut, and do the sequence to program the remote, but for the immobilizer you will need the dealer to program the system with the new key or possibly the place that cuts the key.
