Hi all,

I just bought a Micro Image intake manifold (got it used), and I love it. However, I noticed the radiator hose rubs against the last intake runner (see pic). It actually is pressed pretty hard up against it and literally rests on it.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, how'd you remedy it?

After looking at mr miles fs thread (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51497), I'm wondering if the hose for 2012+ is the same as yours. If it is the same, then maybe you might have to bend the tab little (green circle) or find a longer screw with a sleeve and position it the mount with the rad. cap a little further away. The hose resting on the runner doesn't look too bad unless it's severely constricting coolant flow.

There's clearance on these two but not much.

Thirty-Nine: any chance you can give us your impressions of the MI manifold? Also, is that the stock throttle body or the 1zz? How is the part throttle drive ability and where does the manifold really shine in the powerband with your mods?

Hmmm ... my hose is literally pressed up against the runner. I wonder if I can rotate the hose a bit?

LTHatch -- I have the chip-swapped 1ZZ throttle body and a K&N Typhoon intake on it. There a good increase in throttle response, and noticeably more pull above 3,500 RPM. It doesn't struggle nearly as much going up hills, for one.

It idles high when cold, but goes back down to normal levels once it warms up.

Overall, I really like it. It makes the car more driveable and responsive.

FYI, I also have a DC Sports header and Thunder axleback.

wasn't there an extension tab to move that hose a bit?

I bought it used so I guess not. Should there be?

It rubbed on mine pretty good too, I didn't know there was supposed to be a spacer for that. Maybe some washers to move it a little bit?

Yeah I'm going to add some washers and get some longer bolts.

Mine rubs, doesn't bother anything so I haven't messed with it. If you find a quick fix I'm interested for the next time i have to move things around. Of course I'm also using an aftermarket radiator which is thicker so your fix might not work for me.

I'll be buying some metal spacers so it doesn't rub. I'll be sure to post pics.

Did you receive the complete hardware kit with your used MI manifold, Thirty-Nine?

I must have not used it when it was on my car - Going go downstairs and look in my toolbox.

Edit - happen to have a picture of what it looks like? I'm determined to find it lol.

No, I didn't, Garm. I did, however, make some spacers using some brass stock and longer screws.

^ OK, just checking because we do include a spacer with the kit. Pretty sure it's the one you're talking about. Really glad you like the manifold.

I've been digging through my stuff for it for you, but I can't find it yet lol. I will find it, though. :D
