Hello, has anyone tinted their windows on their Yaris? I'm strongly considering it for my 2007 Yaris 4 door. It's mainly to keep the UV rays, privacy, and some style into my car.
Thanks in advance.

Short answer, yes, many have.
Best just to search 'window tint' for many discussions and examples.
Since you are posting this in the DIY Forum, are you actually thinking of doing the tint yourself? Otherwise, should have posted in Cosmetic Forum.

Yes. Professionally done only.

Not only for the reasons you mention but also for security. A tinted window is harder to break as the tint holds the glass together.

Yesterday I saw a white minivan (from behind) with the rear and side windows 'whited out'. I imagine the 'whited out' windows = a 'wrap', but I didn't get close enough to see. No logos at all. I'd guess it was done for temperture/sun shielding purposes...and for privacy.

Dark tint can be a good way to get shot in some areas. When they stop you, the cops can't see how many people are in the car, and this makes them nervous and trigger happy. A Yaris is likely less prone to this effect than a pimped-out Esclade.

All the glass comes with UV protection from factory. The tint just helps keep the heat out. I wish Low E coating was an option like on house windows.

Right on the money. The low E stuff really works. My house windows stay cool. I think it is some sort of metal coating. As far as window tint goes. A no brainer, I always get it and no regrets.

When I visited the Vancouver area, I stayed in Surrey. I've traveled to over 50 countries, and the only area I've been to where some of the police stations look more like fortresses than they do in Surrey was in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I asked the manager of my hotel why. He said this is due to a myriad of issues, but that many of the issues are related to drugs. I can understand why the above would be on your mind.

I said "some areas" - no reference to Surrey. I guess it could happen here, but more likely elsewhere.

And the easiest way to fix this is to just open the windows if the cops pull you over. The cops will go easy on you when you do that.

some states does not allow tinting front windows and allow total blackout on the rears..
in Quebec, there is a law that says windows must allow 70% light passing through..
If the cops saw it, they can verify your tint. So your windows gotta be open before they see it.

Yes darker on the rear 3. Also include a windshield banner.

Make sure you know and follow the tint laws for your state.
