Color ? What color do they come in also I have to remove the DRL ..right ?

4300k, 5000k, 6000k, 8000k, 10000k, 12000k

If I recall correctly you don't need to disable the DRL's, but I can show you how to do it at the meet

Exiwolfman
08-10-2014, 08:46 PM

sent from my S4 on Mars

thebarber
08-10-2014, 08:51 PM
The colour is the same on high and low beam. Always. The HID bulbs doesn't get brighter from high beams, the bulb moves back (with the aid of a small magnet) which gives a high beam spread. I currently have a flexible kit in my Mk4 jetta. They're great.

4300 is OEM white
5000 pure white
6000 white with hint of blue
8000 more blue
10000 gets a deeper blue almost into violet tint
12000 is violet

I personally run 4300k as you get best visibility and it looks stock

Exiwolfman
08-10-2014, 08:56 PM
Now that I think about it 6k did have that hint of blue and it did look good think I'll go with that as for brightness it would be equal to a 55w bulb on low ..I never raised up my light after lowering car so no worry about blinding ppl cos that would be my consurn too.
Just wonder what a 6k would look like with the yaris big lenses ..?

Thought about popping in around 10 last night returning from Oshawa. Passengers were too tired and just wanted to get home.

3 West End newbies and all silver. What are the odds!

Will hopefully get out in Sept once daughters soccer season has ended.

May 2011 I think was the best for Yaris/Echo turnout. Dwindled ever since.

I've got my OEM 6 disc with aux that came out of my 2011 rs HB. Would that work for you? Its practically brand new. Problem is I have to find it haha. Let me know and I'll bring it on the 10th.

I've also got some eibach prokit lowering springs that I pulled from the same car for an h&r coilover kit. The springs have got about 30-40k on them. Same as TRD springs if I'm not mistaken. I've also got a set of motegi mr125's with milanza rubber 195/50/ 16x7 /40 offset(about 20k on rims and rubber almost new) if anyone is interested. Never winter driven as I have winter rim/tire combo.

Pic below. This pic is for the rims, not the springs. The car as pictured is with the h&r coilover kit.

Posting this in two threads to ensure you see it.

Chances are high a video will not be found.

I have heard this exhaust a few times when it was installed on the original owners car. At WOT, it is louder than TRD and my Medalion Touring, with a pleasant throaty gurgle at idle and cruising. Given the anal nature of the original owner, I can tell you that everything he did to his car had to make sense. This means that the sound of the exhaust had to be in line with the image the car was portraying. Hence the reason he had Hot Rod Scotts replace the muffler they original incorporated into the build with the one currently in the system being sold.

Ill be there on the 10th. So you will get a chance to see it.

Roof Racks stay... To me now, it`s like leaving the house commando... Just doesn't feel right, nor looks right. Plus I need all the downforce I can get. All of the 100+ HP this feather packs just keeps grabbing air. I sent a very sincere letter to Toyota inquiring about the absence of an altimeter in the Yaris... Needless to say, they never responded.

I`d put the bikes on there but I can`t justify hauling the bike carriers and the bikes just for a meet. I guess I just aint` JDM enough, yet... Roof racks FTW; bike carriers and bikes FTL.

I can`t risk it without hearing it first - as Anal as the original owner of the exhaust was, well, you haven`t met me yet. A Db louder than mine is already and I won`t sleep at night knowing that it`s louder than I want it to be. Im doing this solely for more flow. I have a cai and dc header with the trd axle back and I have an MI intake manifold on order. My theory is I have all of this clean high flow air coming in from the intake set up and approximately 2/3`s of the exhaust free flowing with the header and axle back so all I`m really missing is free flowing the rest of the exhaust. Gains will probably be minimal but I just want to try it to confirm my theory or put it to rest and just enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that I tried it.

Either I ask now or at meet:

Budget?... hmm, didn`t set a number, after years of modding cars buying and flipping and loosing (and sometimes gaining) with cars I just kind of know now. You can`t really put a price on it if the results are positive. I`ve already got about 4K in this car and I`m approaching the end of my "invisible" budget. But if something comes along that has a positive effect on the car and meets the criteria then I will gladly spend the money.

I don`t plan to spend too much on this car. This is my work car and daily driver, although I have grown very fond of the capabilities of this car, if I really want to go fast I`ve got a few options in my garage. But that doesn`t mean I don`t want to seek this cars potential... in a safe and Naturally Aspirated manner.

I also don`t want to spend money on something that will void my own specific preferences i.e sound being one of them.

Aspro, Whether you have the midpipe section that's 1.75 inches replaced with two or two and a quarter or buy this header-back exhaust to your exhaust will get louder. I went the midpipe route on mine originally....

To be honest it made a very noticeable difference in power getting rid of that tiny exhaust

Isn't your car boosted? I'm sure a boosted car would definitely feel the benefits of a more open exhaust than a n/a would.

I need to think it over. What cats and resonators are you running on the header back?
My experience with after market cats and resonators isn't that great. Mind you I have always used magnaflow parts. Maybe that was my problem. I'm sure half of the heat shields found on the 401 have come from my cars haha.

You're definitely right about at least offering.

And true, if a Bluetooth aftermarket deck can be had for $100, I may consider losing this stock look for interior functionality, at the cost of worrying about leaving a faceplate in the car.

I'd say for your deck in great condition, $40 because this would only be to obtain tablet/phone music connectivity.

If that's too low, you can ask exiwolfman how I can sweeten this offer. Though if you accept, you might end up with a heart attack, or type 2 diabetes.

It'd be getting too dark for the Forks if you tried to tie this in with the KK meet.

Almost 6 years ago to the day (Oct 5,2008) I tried to arrange a Forks event. Went on the cruise in the morning, followed by a BBQ lunch at my place. Only ended up with myself and two others. Was fun, but I had been hoping for at least a half dozen of us.

aspro
09-25-2014, 04:09 PM
Well, hopefully the Yaris boys can resurrect something by going to the TN meets at KK. Im sure if we all go and the community grows we may just be able to get good turnouts.

Although, I`m noticing Different crowds of people buying Yaris` now. Not too many tuner interests in the Yaris anymore - compared to what it was... Ultimately, it kills communities like YW. It`s a rare occurrence for a guy who bought his yaris strictly for fuel economy that he is passionate about the car enough to join a board and attend meets like this. Not saying there aren`t any but definitely a rarity.

I on the other hand am a walking contradiction. Sitting here, ranting about turnouts and I`ve never been to a meet lol. I will change that.

We need to get some Yaris girls to come out. Maybe if we get one or two girls more people will start coming haha.

Look for a sports touring bike they're cheap on insurance. I ride an 09 vfr800 looks rides and has the power of a sports bike but its called a "sports touring" and I pay $800 for the year full coverage with a $500 deductible and I'm not married and I'm 27. Married with kids and age brings insurance prices even lower.

aspro
10-01-2014, 09:34 PM
No, I think if you worry about things like that you can never enjoy the sport. Same applies for crashing with it.

I'm never too far from the bike when I am off it unless it is in my garage. But if it happens that's what insurance is for. And if it happens they better hope I'm not there otherwise they are in for a serious fight.

Lol we can skip the money part. Just thought it would make for competitive fun.

I'm down just to rip around the track for a couple of hours. I've done some mods to the car since my last trip there and I was putting out 1 min 40 seconds on the nose with the car pretty much stock except for heavy 16's and shitty tires and I hadn't figured out the trac control method then. Im not sure. I don't know much about the sedans. Just give it a try on yours and see if it works. You will see the skid and trac light come on the dash if it works. It doesn't disable abs though. Which I'm sure is a good thing for most people.

I'll keep my ABS, thanks. But the EBD would also be a nice feature to lock to a specific ratio, if possible for such a system.

07 manual sedan, power everything for that year. I'm sure it has ABS, but I see nothing on the cluster regarding VSC or TRAC

At the kk meet we will discuss the track day with the other attendees and hopefully we can gather enough interest from every one.

Yes, much discussion to be had, because this I am highly interested in.

Sweet. Hopefully we can garner enough interest and make this a regular thing for next year as well. Well, if this community isn't extinct by then.

I say we get a run in at Cayuga before the season comes to an end. Say an early Sunday morning. Get there as soon as they open to run some laps.

Only Sunday Oct. 26th will be left.

That's alright, I wouldn't mind going to the track with even just 2 fellow enthusiasts. The more the merrier, of course.

Not allowed to. She can be mean, but makes up for it in many other ways

Aside from freak tsunami, or tornadoes (more than one), I'll be there. BRING IT!

Forecast looks good.

Shiny wet roads are great fun to drive on. Cool lighting effects to match. Just watch out for the crazies, which may even include yourself.
