Hello everyone,

I have a 2007 Yaris S Sedan that has seen better days. Today's job is to either repair or replace the armrest/storage compartment. It was overstuffed and forced closed by my wife. Hence, the lid was pushed forward and will not stay closed. The lid tends to "pop-up" and hit my elbow while I'm driving. More a surprise jack-in-the-box than anything.

Anyway, the armrest is integrated with the trim of the ebrake and gearshifter (this is similar to what I have: armrest (http://tinyurl.com/q7j7mn2)) and I cannot find a replacement for it that's not for a hatchback or similar to this (http://tinyurl.com/ovc6fnr)http://tinyurl.com/ovc6fnr.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advanced!

yes it's a large or rather long piece. hopefully it's cheaper there.

anyway check the hinge if it's metal maybe you can bend it back to its shape so the lock can hook back like before.

First of all, you are a saint. Thanks again for the help. Anyway, it turns out that I had to take the backing off of it and tightened 4 screws that had worked themselves out a little. Tightened the lid and fixed the problem. I'll see if I can upload some pictures later.
