View Full Version : Stuck oil drain plug..Yaris '99

Hi, bit of a problem...just running through a small service on my yaris, and get to changing oil...filter etc and the drain plug for the oil is stuck propa good, any advice/tricks to free this nut up?

That's a tough one. You really don't want to shear off the bolt. I would try a piece of pipe over a wrench, for extra torque. Considering what's above it, it really shouldn't be stuck due to rust, so it was likely just over-torqued on the last oil change.

I once had hard time to undo the bolt on a corolla. It was way over torqued by the previous person who maintained it.

Pheeew, A little perseverance and car jacked up so I could access a bit better and I managed to get this bolt off..oil change now done!

Now on to replacing the headlight cover..any help gratefully received....

All you can do is apply enough force to remove the bolt. It it comes out in one piece...great! If the threads strip the oil pan is easily replaced.
