Hi all,
lower engine noise- or loose timing chain?
130,000 KM got a new water pump fitted, picked the car up end of business on Friday and 20 minutes later this noise started.
Drove home and taking it back in to the shop Monday.

check the video and any/all comments welcome.

Hard to tell from the quality of sound recording.
Maybe defective water pump or mechanics screwed it up?

I'm going for water pump also. My guess for the early failure will be the belt was put on too tight. This happened to me before, but with another car.

Sounds like water pump ...remove belt see if u can feel play in water pump pully and any leaks or dry coolant ...to me sounds like the bearing let go , they make nose first then leak or explode lol

Does it make a ticking noise at every other engine revolution (~4 ticks per second at around 600 rpm), and only on idle?

If so, you've got the same problem as me.

That sounds normal ...mine does it too ,they all do it lol
The sound in vid sounds to me like a water pump bearing on its way out .
