2014 Yaris LE radio replacement help needed...

I have the Toyota PT546-52121 in my Yaris and I would like to replace it with my trusty Blaupunkt Long Beach that I had in my 2002 Echo. I have found a Single DIN to Double DIN adapter but I need some help regarding the rear panel pin out on the PT546-52121 as well as what sort of adapters I will require to connect the harnesses in my Yaris to it. I am aware that I will lose the USB and Aux. input features (not that I will miss them since some genius in design stuck them in the glovebox!) as well as Bluetooth connectivity, and the steering wheel controls. I don't care about that I just want to get the Blaupunkt going again.

the pinout is pretty standard with the Toyotas. if you have USB, aux in your blaupunkt, you can even make them work.

you may want to buy those toyota harness adapters from ebay or amazon (i think) so you won't have to do any wire splicing/cutting.

The Metra harness comes labeled with the wire functions, so you click it onto the OEM harness connectors and them crimp or solder the wires to their appropriate functions on hour head-unit's harness.

It is because of YW that i searched for such adapters here in manila to change my stereo. Before YW, i didnt know such OEM harness adapters existed and just spliced stereo harness into the oem harness of our previous van, my previous car, sister's car.... :biggrin:

The best thing you can do is look at the parts diagrams available, most of the parts are holds by clips, I don´t have any tools for trim removal (Only my Hands, do it carefully):

My audio system is a Kenwood double-din and I only needed to remove (3) and (5), the dealer used a Metra adapter that connects to the car harness. And don´t forget disconect the negative (-) pole of the battery.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to post in this thread. I truly appreciate the suggestions and I finally got around to putting my Blaupunkt in the Yaris today.

I have a couple of questions. I used the following antenna adapter--

---on the antenna. I didn't connect the blue wire to anything as I didn't see anything to join it to. However, I am unable to pick up any AM radio stations. Is there something I should have done with that blue wire? The antenna on my Echo was a lot longer than the one on my Yaris and I am wondering if this is affecting my radio reception.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The blue wire of the Metra antenna adapter needs to be connected into the blue wire of the headunit harness (Power Antenna).

The the antenna uses an amplifier when the radio signal is weak or have interference, noise, etc.

Yes the straight one, not the loop at the end of the connector.

joell another question. Are the red and black wires in the harness the 12+ and 12- wires? I'm thinking of connecting a small LCD monitor so that I can navigate the menus on my DVD-Audio discs.

If you look at the image of post #8 I tapped +12V (red) and ground (black) for the reverse camera. I think it depends of the size of the screen, a small monitor will not consume too much power.
