Hi everyone.
Anybody ever got this kind of problem whenever they start their car after a long rest (e.g. >7hours). It happens regularly to me in the morning and after leaving work.
I have attached an audio recording of the sound I get everytime I try to start the car...

You don't need to hold the ignition to start. It works like a start button.
I can't listen to the link on tapatalk. Someone please fix the link...?

I can't access the link so don't know what sound OP is talking about. Based on my experience, if you need to hold the key in the 'On' position to start the car, your battery is on its way out.

is that the actual car making that noise or is that an old chevy V8? Doesn't sound anything like a toyota trying to start.

I just listened to the audio. I suspect a dying battery.

Hi Guys.. .thanks you for trying to help.. !
I don't think it is a dying battery since my battery is two years old. I suspect it may be the ignition...still trying to sort this out this week...hope anybody who ever got this issue can shed some light

You say it only does it after a while the car has been sitting there. I can't see it being anything else than a bad battery.
Static drain on the Yaris is quite high, so 7 hours could be just that to drain enough that it doesn't start very well.
Go get your battery tested. I just changed a battery on my in-law's pathfinder. Mechanics tested it to be defective, after less than 2 years i've put that in.
