Greetings!

For my first post, I thought I'd ask for some help from the Yaris and entertainment gods.

I have a 3 door HB which I love and have just purchased a Jensen VM9312 HU for it along with the install kit and wiring. While I am good with computers, being a professional geek, I don't know much about car stereos so here's my question.

Can someone help me out with a design for my car stereo equipment? I don't know anything about amps, crossovers, subs etc.

I want a system that sounds clean with decent bass and doesn't break the bank. I can do the install myself, just need to know what to get to make things work best. I also need to keep the trunk space and the spare tire, so a big sub enclosure won't work.

Thoughts?

Alot of companies now are making "thin" subwoofers, that are in the 3"-4" deep range, one thing that I have done is put a sub into a spare tire. We made a mold of the inside of the spare and cut a hole in the top. The air space was almost exact. Here are some pictures.....

I hope this gives you some ideas

Rick!

Awesome idea, but I lack the tools, knowledge and time to replicate your efforts. Any chance you might be willing to duplicate that for a fee?

read read read. And I can offer some advice. Don't pay attention to brand names or "car" speakers. Speakers are speakers. Figure out your application and buy speakers that meet your requirements. Oh, and go browse www.partsexpress.com they have many speakers, some at very good prices.
