I have been looking into a new set of springs to lower my ride a lil bit. My only concern is when I go to put new shocks and struts on, will I need to look for a specific set that will be compatible with the new springs?
Or can I buy pretty much anything that will fit to a yaris and they will be fine with the lower springs?

There's not a whole lot of choice for shocks and struts for the Yaris out there from what I have found. I know Monroe makes them, as well as KYB in the aftermarket. The Tokico blues have gone away from what I have heard, but I think you can still get the adjustable reds. Other than that, you have OEM Toyota and TRD, which, if I'm not mistaken, are KYB.

I would go with a more performance oriented shock and strut to go with your lowering springs, as lowering springs generally have a stiffer spring rate. So that leaves the TRD, Tokico, or KYB. I really don't see a need for the adjustable reds unless you are gonna rally race. General for everyday driving, as light as these cars are, I would think the KYB, or the TRD would be more than adequate. I've seen some Chinese shocks and struts on ebay for half the price of the known name brands, but I would stay away from them, as the reviews I found on them were awful.

I found a set of f/r KyB Excel G Black Gr-2's and some 1.5" drop vogtland springs for right around 400. Lil stiffer of a set but thats what Im looking for. I want lil more performance than comfort. I couldnt care less if someone doesnt like bumps lol. I might keep looking around, I want some good shock/strut springs and and all that jazz. I just dont feel like spending 900$ on a good set. If my car was gonna be a track only car sure, but this is my daily driver that I just wanna go faster and sharper in and enjoy.
