:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Great find! Dare I say, this reflects the experience of most Yarisworld members. It certainly reflects my experience. Toyota earned my repeat business in August of 2014 via the outstanding reliability I've experienced since October of 2006 with my 2007 Yaris .

^^^^^ I know the 'finding' is for the 3rd Gen only, but we all know (and many love) that there isn't a huge difference overall .

This is news??? :bellyroll:
Thanks for posting this - appreciated!
My 2013 'L' is getting OLD, it's 2 years old now that the 2015's are out, I'll have had it 2 years this April 11, 2015. Wow, time flies!
I've had nothing but NO TROUBLE with it :headbang:
'Scruffy' looks almost brand new - SO glad I found this lil' GEM

It'd better be. The 1NZ-FE has been on the US market since 2000. The car is quite simple without sophisticated gearboxes, direct injection, turbos, etc.

Consider that a compliment and not a dig, by the way!

I guess that would make my 2006 'LE' ANCIENT. Build stamp 09/2005.

Only thing that has failed is the alternator. Body still close to showroom condition. If it wasn't for the fact that the paint on the front end appears to have received a couple rounds of buckshot, it would be showroom.

Yep! It's why I'm so happy. I've never had any trouble and my car gets more fun each and every day. It's like she loves to go fast! Amazing car really.

Saw this for sale on craigslist...a lot of miles for an 07 and I am sure it hasn't had too many issues. These are great cars. I believe the Yaris now, is what the Honda Civic used to be, before the Civic (and Honda in general) lost its way.

Very interesting. 31,045 more miles than my 07 and needed a new transmission.

I think so too. The Civics used to be reliable, thrifty on gas, and cheap to maintain. Not with the new ones though.

Even here a lot of EK and EG owners switched to Yarises but mostly sedans.

I was just being funny - Seems like I just got my Yaris and they've already changed the front end, rear end (like those 2015 tail lights) dashboard and I'm sure the corresponding door panels. It's already aging
It will be interesting to see what the next few years bring. Glad I jumped on board when I did!

I guess I missed the new trans part of the ad, but still, not too bad for that many miles, and kudos to you for not needing a new tranny

I agree, it looks good . Mine no longer looks as good after a recent accident :frown:. I found the listing particularly interesting because two members (yaris9876, and trini_per4mance) have gone well over 400,000 miles with their original transmissions. I can tell my transmission is worn enough, just by how it feels, that it probably wouldn't make it to 400k....and this begs the question....when would it give out?

I created my own 'all black interior'. Clazzio doesn't make seat covers for the 3rd Gen :frown: (per their site and MI when I checked both). I still had the second set of cheap all black covers (still new) that I bought as an exact same back-up set for my 2007. I then bought a solid black jersey material sheet set (also inexpensive), and used one of those sheets covers to cover the entire back seat...tucked in, and it stays in place. The main thing I dislike about the 3rd Gen (stock) is the two tone seats . I poked two holes in the top of the driver's seat cover and reinstalled the headrest .

Wish we could say the same for the '08 sedan we had  . Do miss it :frown: . If they brought the sedan back we'd consider it . Think it has a different suspension . If so , what's the difference ? Better control arms ?

Do like this one in the U.A.E . A choice of a 1.3 ltr. engine or 1.5 ltr.. Must be nice . http://ymimg.b8cdn.com/uploads/car_model/1507/pictures/1158115/2014_Toyota_Yaris_Sedan_Side_View.jpg

I have found the Yaris to be extremely reliable. I just wish Toyota promoted this car better in the US.

What impact would Toyota's increased promotion of the Yaris have on your ownership experience?

Just curious....

If there was more promotion there would be more Yaris's out there. If there were more Yaris's out there the price of gas would go down. (less demand for gas)

Its a cascade effect....

doubtful, since people that might buy the yaris are just buying other subcompacts that get close to or the same mileage.

But that hasn't happened in other markets...say Europe for instance.

OTOH if demand were higher here in the US production MAY have to be moved elsewhere...say Mexico.

Be careful what you wish for!

why?

This is a sign of the apocalypse. CR never says anything even remotely positive about the Yaris.

actually the demand for gas going down would make the price of gas go up in the long run. One of the reasons even though a barrel of oil is dirt cheap the price of gas is taking forever to drop.

Is that per U.S gallon?
Here in the U.K. petrol(gas) has dropped to it's lowest for some time at around the 1.98 U.S. Dollars/litre (£1.24). That equates to 8.99 U.S. Dollars/ Imperial gallon. I'll let someone else do the conversion to U.S.(Queen Anne) gallons.

That 'No Sniveling' sign is too funny ! Love the old 'rotating wheel' gas pump. I haven't seen one in the U.S. since 2013, in Denton, TX. Last one before that was in 2007 in Tupelo, MS.

I once walked by a beachfront restaurant on the island of Santorini that was closed for the season. The name of the restaurant was.....Snack Bar Without Name ...and the sign was in English.

.

Those kinds of pumps were the norm in Canada in 2011, at least where I went in Alberta, Yukon, and BC.

I was in Tupelo in 2000 on a round the country motorcycle trip on my ST1100! Someone tried to break the door down of my motel room! Very exciting!

Someone tried to break the door down of my motel room! Very exciting!

In college, I happened to go on a ski trip with two of my fraternity brothers. We were headed to the north end of Lake Tahoe to stay with one of our little sisters (and her parents) at their lake house. On the way there, we stopped in South Lake Tahoe for a night. We finally found a motel with a vacancy. We paid for the room, found it, and opened the door. Four girls were asleep in two beds and they bolted upright and started screaming. We went back to the front desk and explained the situation. The clerk assigned us another room. We found that room and opened the door. The floor was stripped all the way down to the sub floor, all of the furniture was in the corner, and the beds needed to be assembled. We went back to the front desk, and the clerk assigned us yet another room. Finally, the third time was the charm...unoccupied and not being renovated .
