Did any of you people get your Yaris with pinstripes? (there are actually two close together that run down both sides) Mine came on it, and plus the dealer threw in a stripe-for-life deal if it gets messed up or blown off they replace it free for 3 years
I was just wondering if alot of people got it and took it off or what?
Here is what I am talking about

Personally I think it is just about ugly, which reminds me
I gently scraped off the damn dealer insignia, not because it necessarily looks
bad, but I dont get a check from them every month to advertise for them
Any thoughts?

Hey its probably something lost-in-transliation lol i thought it was kinda dumb too, but hey, at least its free for a while.
I should peel it off every time i want the car detailed
"at the dealer"
cuz they must have to wash and whatnot to reapply the stripes

i told my dealership to take off their insignia off before I bought the car, told them i didn't want that sticker on the back. They obliged haha which is even more of a pecker slap.

Heh, I can one up that one:
Some states/countries require front and rear license plates, North Carolina does not.
So you have probably noticed some dealers put their insignia plates on the front of their freshly minted cars. On the Yaris you can see why this would be a problem. The holes are not pre drilled, there are a couple little marker dimples and if they were drilled, it would look like poopie.
While I was waiting to sign some papers, I noticed a d00d with a power-drill and a plate walking towards my unscathed car, whom was on the other side of the lot. So I went and told the manager if they do that to my car, I am walking straight out of here. I have never seen a fat a$$ pencil-pusher run so fast!
He apologized profusely and bought me and my friends a few sodas.
It was all I could do to keep a straight face.
Nobody is touching my baby

There was a sedan at the local Toyota dealer with a pinstripe on it. The dealer charged a $65 option fee for it. lol

I asked the dealer not to put any of their markings on the car. The sales guy asked why and I told him that for $50 bucks a month I would gladly sell my space for advertising purposes. They did not take me up on my offer
Anyway ... I removed the "toyota" and "yaris" badges as well. Why should I advertise the manufacturer's name for free? Plus, the less cluttered look is much better.

Dealers LOVE pinstripes. Easy money.
I also agree about removing some dealers ugly logo from the car. Nobody rides for free.

I removed the "Toyota" badge as well, and put the "Yaris" badge in it's place (I had to buy a new one considering it was useless when I took it off the right side). In it's place on the right side, I put a "VVT-i" badge that I purchased on eBay. It looks really sporty that way.. I should probably take a pic or something.

Stupid dealer stickers...........i couldn't get mine off right away because it was so damn cold and I don't have a garage.......but thankfully it is off. Along with the rear bumper protector I didn't want to begin with and they were so nice to "not charge me" for it. Took that off too.............so if anyone wants one I'm selling it. I have seen a pic of another sedan with a pin stripe and it's ugly. I think you should take it off. Also they drilled holes in my front bumper even after i asked them not too, said it was like that when they got it.

I took the dealer badging off. I'm not a billboard. Besides the Dealership the I got my car from are a bunch of liars and cheats. And I try to refer people everywhere else. But that is a different story..
What does the pinstriping look like?

This Toy is the second I bought from my dealer and he didn't even dare to put there phecking cheesy sticker on MY BUMPER. I would have stolen his trash and raped his dog if he would have done it. :smoking:

After I got done telling my salesman I did not want any adertizing on my car, no stickers , plate frames, nothing...
I politely asked my salesmen for a screw driver.... to remove the plate frame the numb nuts installed anyway:bonk:
pinstripes looks pretty fugly.. lol, for $65 they better add some HP!!
my salesman was smart and did not put on the dealer sticker on my trunk cuz he said i would probably dislike it.

The addition of subtle pinstripes with the right color are classy! When they are so subdued you don't even notice them then you hit the mark. "Old School" means class, not clash!

Just got my Yaris last monday (6.11.07). Mine came with pinstripes (2 lines with tiny toyota logo by the door handle). My dealer said they put it on all their showroom/display cars. Didn't wanna wait 2 weeks to order my car (after going to another dealer with no stock) so I took the one in the showroom. It's the right color and config that I want (white, AT, power package). Just have to wait 2 weeks for all the accessories I ordered. Anyway, I like the pinstripe a lot. It makes my Yaris different, sort of "limited edition" effect. Black lines give contrast to my white LB. No dealer stickers on the back, thank god, only dealer license plate frame which I might change to chrome.

Ive actually called my dealer and asked if there was a way to get the dealer logo sticker off in any way, they told me just to bring it in, and they would remove it for free...
They probably have a vat of decal remover goo in the back, just for such an occasion.

My dealers plate cover looks really nice, it's a nice hard heavy metal and is chromed out. They treated me good and even repaired a dent that was my error, for free, so ill advertise i guess..
