I'm not looking for a new car, but I enjoy perusing dealership websites. My local Toyota dealer is selling a 2015 Corolla Auto L for $16,759, while a 2015 Yaris Auto LE 3dr is selling for $17,101. Is it common to see a Corolla selling for less than a Yaris?
As an fyi, this dealership has been trying to dump a new 2013 Scion IQ 3dr HB for quite some time....they've now marked it down to $12,999.

Is the LE with a 4 speed automatic or the C.V.T.? If the C.V.T. , that's a good price .

Don't you need a Corolla LE to get automatic transmission?
That would pump the price above a Yaris LE.
It is normal. Corolla's are mostly made in the USA, so they would probably be less expensive than Yaris's made abroad. Also a fully loaded Yaris is absurdly expensive, and I am sure a stripper Corolla would easily be less.

Actually, the Corolla L with 4-speed automatic is a well equipped car. I just bought one for my dad and was very impressed. It was priced at considerably less than a similarly equipped Yaris. Now, if only they Corolla hatchback was available in the US, I'd have one parked in the driveway.

They kept trying to push me into a same year (2013) Corolla when I went to get my Yaris. They offered me the car for 2k less. Surplus I guess?

That does not surprise me. The amount of tech they seem to be putting in every car is on the rise so they can spread the money out as much as possible instead of having insane numbers of really expensive add ons.
Plus the Yaris price has just gone insane.
