Anyone have this problem? It's really difficult to turn and on a cold morning it's nearly stuck.

That is a common issue and often results in snapping the cable or popping it off the back of the knob. Pull the glove box and check the vent selector (the other end of the cable) while rotating the knob. There is a clear plastic grease on it that may be gone, or it may simply be that there is some moisture in the air box that is freezing the flappers in place. For that there is not much you can do, other than wait until it warms up to change the output position.

My car is covered under a comprehensive warranty still, I'm probably just going to take it to them.
The switch also seems sunken in. Like, its about half and an inch shorter than the rest of the switches.

Does anyone else's first switch sit more inward than the others like in my picture? I'm concerned that's not normal.

That is not normal. Either the tabs that lock it into place broke or have just popped free.

Yeah the first switch sitting a little inward is a tell tale sign that something is not right. hopefully it just wasnt seated properly and not a broken tab.

Dealer says it isn't covered under warranty, but hasn't done anything, they just looked at it, called, said it's not covered, do you want it fixed. I said I was disappointed it wasn't covered and I'd get back to them.
I'm 90% certain it's a broken tab on the knob. I assume they think so too, and are thinking it's misuse/physical abuse, and that is why they don't want to cover it. The only problem being, I didn't do that, it was like it when I purchased it.
Thoughts?
