was on ebay and happened to spot this motor for sale,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Echo-Yaris-Vios-Scion-xB-JDM-1NZ-FET-TRD-Turbo-Engine-LSD-Trans-ECU-1-5L-/351233847766?vxp=mtr
would anyone know the stock spec's on one of these?

That's 150hp. You won't see miracles with that. 4000$ is not worth it unless you want it be TRD

It's rare but $4000 is steep

why?

Looks like they are willing to negotiate. LSD is also a bonus. The biggest problem though is emissions compliance and if it is CANBUS or OBD 2 compatible. Odds are strong it is not, so it would be a race only engine in many states.

It would be M-OBD, as opposed to OBDII. I have a solution that I developed that allows vehicles with stand-alone ECUs to be able to do OBDII based emissions testing.

The biggest issue with it is that the turbo has a custom flange, and is impossible to find a replacement for, so if it failed you would be in a pickle.

That is really awesome.

CTScott: Stand alones like the AEM EMS series? If so, can you manage that with the 2013 model ECUs?

I haven't done a 3rd gen Yaris yet, but with a little bit of time to interrogate the car's original ECM on my bench I can do pretty much any car with any standalone.
