For those that have had their seat track recall completed. Do your seats now creak incessantly?

Mine began creaking at the right rear immediately after the recall so I mentioned it to the service dept. when it went in later for the spiral cable recall. They re-mounted the seat track. Now it is worse! Extreme creaking at the left rear and the same creaking at the right rear. And they claim to have road tested it. Just climbing in emits a sound like an old rusty gate.

No issue with mine neither. But it's really hard to move it.

Next warm day I'll address it myself. No point wasting time doing the dealer process again for round 3.

Will they just give you the part and let you do the replacement yourself? It seems like every time I take my car somewhere they always break something. I'd rather do the work myself if they'll let me.

I had both seats tracks and the spiral cable recall done at the same time. NO issues afterward, but I noticed yesterday that they didnt remount the amplifier under the passenger seat. Thats where I mounted the amp for the front speakers. I will need to redo that soon.

No. Most manufacturers do recalls voluntarily (or at least appear to be so) but really what happens is after an investigation is completed by the National Highway National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and a part/car is determined top be unsafe and could cause harm, NHTSA tends to persuade the manufacturers to fix the problem at no cost. If the part is not fixed voluntarily, they are ordered to do so by the courts via the NHTSA. Unfortunately you can't perform the fix yourself as the NHTSA has to track the fix via the dealer which has all the cars information on file. This ensures a qualified technician for the car manufacturer has performed the service. It's a guarantee for the car manufacturer, the part manufacturer (not all parts of a car are made in house from a car manufacturer) and the NHTSA all together.

I got mine fixed a few months ago, only one issue. I was cleaning the car the next day and saw this

What did they use on these bolts, vise grips. Any way, I posted this picture on their Facebook page and a short explanation about how completely unsatisfied I was. I got a call from the service manager the next day. He informed me that they had 8 new bolts that they needed to install in my Yaris

I went back to Facebook (after it was fixed) and explained how well they took care of me:biggrin:

Scratched center console, gnarled up bolts... Things like this are why I'd rather just risk my seat falling off than let someone else work on my car.
