hi:
I've been having this problem with my 2007 Yaris Sedan for quite some time.
First, the drivers side power lock started closing slowly. then it stopped working. then the door behind the driver did the same and the last door is the front passenger door. The only power lock that works is the door of the right side, back passenger. The symptom is the locks started working slowly and then stopped altogether. Can it be dirt? The doors now does not make any noise. Only the working door is.
What can I do to restore my powelocks?:iono:

Pull the inner door card off and remove the non-working lock assemblies to see what is going on (check the electrical connectors first). My bet (after having had experience in past with a manufacturing plant down in PR) is corrosion from the salty air. The power lock assemblies are housed in plastic, but the connector terminals can easily corrode as well as portions of the lock motor.

So I took out the power lock assembly. No corrosion. I applied a 9V battery to the 2 pins, death.
So I put it back together. The actuator is shot. I need a new one. I have seen them go for 250+ a pop and I need 3 of them. is there a way to repair it? is the internal motor replaceable?

Pop it open. Usually it's just the brushed motor that is shot. Or maybe water got inside and jammed the gears. You have nothing to lose since its already broken

I have not taken one apart to see if the motor is something that you can easily purchase. Toyota only sells them as a complete unit.

eBay has kits of generic lock actuators for very cheap (meant for doors without power door locks as an upgrade, but $700 of savings would lead me to work hard at fitting them anyways).
