My outer driver's seat bolster has worn thru :bonk:(in addition to the foam getting lumpy there). 09 3 door. 122,000 miles.

:help:What are my options?
Suggestions?
Craig

A complete new drivers seat would be about $1350 (1147.04 plus 200 shipping). Certainly the driver's seat would look and feel like new. Hopefully would still match the patina on other soft goods.
New Katzkin leather installed with slight repairs on bolster would be $900 plus tax (approx975) installed...would feel? Would probably look great.

Check car-parts.com and see if there are any used low-mileage ones out there.

Thanks!
What year would match? 09 and 10? Mine is solid blackish.

09-11 would be a match for yours.

Non S 3 door only?

For driver's side 5 door (4 door htchbk on there) would be fine as well. Must be w/airbag for 09-11.

May want to visit a local car upholstery shop. May be able to get it re done for less than you think.

Since the upholstery is glued on...im not so sure. Thanks to CTScott...I'm gonna look at some used ones. I'll keep y'all posted.

It just pulls off and can be re-glued. I've done heated seats on mine that way and looks good. I've also had LOTS of bolsters repaired on work trucks and they usually look just like OE after.

I was initially going to suggest that route for him, but there seems to be quite a few junkyard seats available in Texas for under $150.

Thank you so much gentlemen! $85 plus tax off a 2010. Donor car was hit in front relatively minor. Clean insides with doors and glass intact. 6 miles from home! No charge for armrest!!!!!!

Any tricks on the swap due to the airbag?

Just disconnect the battery to be safe while doing the swap. Other than that, you scored a hell of a deal.
