Been a while but yarisworld is always a good place for this ... I got 8 year old yaris and noticing big drop on mpg, don't matter if its summer or winter I normally get over 500 km before the last bar blinks now i get the last bar to blink on slight over 400 Kim's almost 100km I'm losing in a tank... I just got Toyota to clean my injectors hoping this will get my mpg back but didn't help , tire pressure is good , I don't think I'm dragging when it comes to rear parking brake, got 5w-20 running with new air filter.... So im left with 02 sensor.
I'm not getting a cel but is it possible to check 02 sensor if it's going bad..? Thanks guys...

Yeah, the front one on a Yaris '06 up is an A/F sensor.
I just replaced my O2 sensor on my Echo because it was tested and was going bad and it did improve my millage.

How much was it? I Haven't check the pricing on the air fuel sensor but it's definetely more than the O2 sensor...

Around $140 at parts source/Canadian tire. It was the same as OE too, just without a Toyota PN on it.

It's NTK. Not NGK. And NTK is what come from factory.

hey marcus, did changing the AF sensor fix the low mpg? I'm having the same issue with my '07 and did exactly all that you done and only getting around 400-450km mixed city/hwy driving.

Just for reference, I filled my tank for the first time with Costco gas because it was 0.10/L cheaper than the next closest station in my area. I got the WORST milage I've ever experienced out of it. 459km 37L fill. Last tank was Pioneer gas and got 600km out of 38L.
So all my driving being the same, Costco 8L/100km (29.2MPG US), Pioneer 6.3L/100km (37.1MPG US)
I knew Costco gas was watered down but holy crap!

Maybe your "Pioneer gas" probably have less ethanol than Costco. Although both should say they contain up to 10% ethanol.
I've never experienced differences over here. The only time I've had low mileage was with Ultramar gas.

Update... I actually cleaned the "maf " mass air flow sensor , didn't think it was that dirty since I cleaned it about 2 years ago but must have too much oil on my KN filter at one point but it's dirty and oily .. After cleaning it which took less than 5 minutes the next 2 tank shows my old mpg.. It's back.. Not the upper stream sensor after all..
I was getting 420km ave before the last bar blinks
After cleaning it's back to 520-530km before the last bar blinks
Roughly losing 100 km in a tank..
