rerouting aux input?

So I think it would be cool for a number of reasons to have a dash cradle for my phone that could go directly in front of the driver (since the gauge cluster is centered). The only way I would do it, though, is if I could reroute the aux input up there. I was thinking one of two ways, the second of which I'd rather not do. 1) use a long stereo cable and run it under the plastic elements and exit somewhere by the driver's glove compartment. I don't like making irreversible changes, so I'm interested in what anyone could think of as to where the cable could exit. 2) go in to the wiring and directly reroute the aux input. I'd really rather not do this though.

You will end up installing a different, better stereo with full Bluetooth streaming (A2DP) that will offer a nicer look and better functionality than either of your two ways, and you will wonder what possessed you in first place to waste time and money on coming up with various ghetto hacks.

I would go with the bluetooth option, but buying a new stereo is not needed. Here's a description of my setup:

Needed supplies:
Headphone jack splitter (two female ends, one male end)
6 ft AUX cord
12v USB converter
6 ft USB charger
Cobra AirWave bluetooth adapter

I removed the existing jack, accessed from the passenger footwell. If I remember correctly it just pops out. I removed the jack from the cover/case. the splitter is plugged into the jack with one female end glued to the cover/case with silicone and snapped back to where it was. Still functions as an aux input. The 6 ft aux cord is plugged into the other female plug on the splitter and routed behind the dash to the driver compartment. The charger is for the bluetooth adapter, not really needed as the adapter has amazing battery life. I spliced the usb converter into the wires for the 12v cig lighter and ran the charger under the dash into the driver compartment. Bluetooth adapter is plugged into charger and headphone jack and sits in the driver compartment, untouched except for initial pairing.

Pros:
-Reversible
-Invisible wireless audio
-Inexpensive

Cons:
-Slightly time consuming
-There is a slight humming noise when audio is not playing, audio is not affected.
