I need a source that is switched ground when car is armed. I would tap the aftermarket alarm "ground when armed" but it doesn't appear to work.

Grab the blue wire on pin 21 of connector D33 of the main body ECU (which is the connector on the back side of the under dash fuse panel).

I see one connector behind the fuse panel. But isnt that one above.
The picture is not displaying. But, if you go up the back side of the under dash fuse panel, there is one connector just above the label on it.

No. it is physically on the back of the box way at the top. You have to reach/look about 8" above where you are.

I feel one plug, way at the top. So little room or slack to work with even to unplug.

You can also grab it at the driver's kick panel. The blue wire next to the green unlock wire.

I used the blue wire, next to the green door unlock. Opposite outcome of what i need.
It might help if i say what im using it for. Im installing DEI 516L (Voice System) One wire from its harness, says when grounded and kept grounded makes the system say (arm and be prepared for any door/sensor violations) and when it doesnt see ground it says (disarm)
Right now, when i arm my alarm by remote it says (disarm) and vice versa. Even more annoying is even using the physical door lock buttons, or even manually locking the door, it speaks, and the voice system is "armed" and ready to look for door violations.

OK. The service manual describes that wire as being grounded when locked (there is no actual armed output on the Yaris). So, in that case, to use the wire you would have to invert its output.

Odd that it is showing grounded when unlock instead.

I just read it wrong when I looked at it quick. There is nothing I can find with the correct polarity. If you want, I can make you a special version of the device that I use for the Scion IQ hatch switch mod to do the inversion for you. You'd be looking at about $15 shipped for it.

Cool workaround. But looks like the module would arm, even when im locking the doors with the switch. Can something be made to use the lock/unlock wires to show ground/no ground respectively.
Im not sure why the after car alarm's "ground when armed wire" for the starter killer isnt working.

What wire were you told is the GWA wire?
My module does use the lock/unlock wires to make the GWA signal. The problem with those wires is that they are pulsed, not held, so you would just get the signal for a second and then it would go away.

the manual for the car alarm that i have says that particular wire is Ground when Armed.
Yup, i first tried the lock wire, and noticed it is pulsed when instead i need held, or it'll say arm then disarm real quick.

It looks like my module might be the best option. It's too bad that the alarm doesn't have the option of having that input reversed (+ when armed).
