The cabin filter / air condition filter is one in the same in the Yaris (2012) correct, the one that it's in the glove box ?

What is the type of filter required, model type etc I can't find any into in the manual ?

When Hersey still had his Yaris, he and I both bought FRAM Fresh Breeze cabin air filters at Wal-Marts in our respective areas. This discussion is on a past thread. I'm almost positive Hershey included the part number on a post in that thread.

I think the cabin air filter slot in the 3rd Gen is the same size as the one in the 2nd Gen, but I'm not positive.

I previously owned a Mk 2 and now a Mk 3. Both French built and whether the same size/type filter is fitted for the U.S. market I don't know?
However, both genuine filters are exactly the same and have the same Toyota part number 87139 - YZZ16 (Made in France too). The filter housings are identical.

Amazon give the option of matching the filter that is for your car and so I did, and I was informed the FRAM Fresh Breeze Cabin air filter is not compatible with a 2012 Yaris.

Is there a generic filter part number ? The most affordable I'm finding it is only off ebay for $30 CDN :(

The Air Condition Filter and Cabin Filter are one in the same, correct ? :)

If pjon is correct re the housings being identical, does anyone have any insight as to why the FRAM wouldn;t be compatible with a 2012 (thus 3rd gens) ? I'd like to know because when replacement looms for me on my 2014, I'd like to get the FRAM Fresh Breeze.

I just bought a "Hypoallergenic Cabin Air Filter" from Aeon import auto parts (ebay) for $5.97 shipped.

Identical in the French built cars and U.K./European market. Hence my bold.

Cars built for the U.S. prior to the supply of French cars could well have a more locally sourced supply of the cabin/pollen filter housing during manufacture. Therefore, depending on where built, there could well be a difference.
I can only write re personal experience with a 2010 Mk2 and a 2014 Mk3.

The US / Japanese Filter is not the same as the French version ?

Kimona - Does Aeon ship to Canada ?

According to the ebay listing, they ship everywhere! Shipping to Canada is not cheap at about $12.00.

You can buy a Purolator #C38188 cabin filter (about $10) from an auto parts store.

Yeah, but in 2012 all of Canadian (YodaBird) Yari = from Japan and all of the U.S. Yari (Hershey, and me) = from Japan as well. I'd think YodaBird shouldn't be getting that message from Amazon.
