Just saw on AutoBlog.com (they are covering the New York Auto Show) the new Scion "iM" (replacement 4 door hatch for the xB ?) and the new Scion "iA"-Mazda 2-based car made in Mexico.
I am thinking the "iA" is the actual car everyone has been worried about replacing our beloved current Yaris. According to the New York coverage, this iA Sedan "is" the Mexican-Made, Mazda 2-based car Toyota has partnered with Mazda to be built at the new Mazda plant in Mexico.
It is not a bad looking sedan....could have easily been a New Yaris 4-door Sedan. This makes me wonder...Could this be the end of the Yaris name? I mean they keep pushing everyone to the Prius C for a small hatchback and now they have this Yaris-sized "sedan" as the new Scion iA. And it is still strange that some people (depending on area of the country) have trouble finding a new Yaris at a Toyota dealer. Is something about to happen to our little trooper car??
It has got me wondering if we are seeing the "beginning of the end" for the Yaris.:iono:
