60/40 for bench seat Swap

I believe I've tracked down some 60/40 seats for my Yaris. How hard is it to swap out the seats?

Depending on the age of your car, the bolts can be almost impossible to remove. They're reverse Torx head bolts (E-type?) and can strip fairly easily. I don't know about a DIY, but there should be some info in these forums.

The 60/40, as you'll see in the links above, requires more bolts than the solid bench. The holes in the floor pan for the extra bolts do not exist. For some, there is a receiver nut in place, requiring a hole to be drilled to it. There is another one where no hole or nut exists.

I've put a 60/40 in mine, but have yet to drill out for the additional bolts. As far as welding is concerned, I don't see why it is necessary to weld the extra nut in. I would think a nut and washer drawn tight would suffice.

I posted a DIY when I did one on my red Yaris. You could use nuts if you have a helper and will have them again if you ever need to remove it. I welded mine.

Do the years of the seats matter much for how much work is involved? Seems like i have the crappy end of the stick for installation lol

No, all Gen2 seats are constructed the same. I have an '06 and put in seats, front and rear, from a '10.
