I loved the earlier versions pre 2k. These look horrible.

I did as well. My Scirocco was the first new car I ever owned.

Thanks for the working link. In 2013 (?), I had a conversation with two other auto enthusiasts at a Starbucks in Chattanooga,TN. The conversation rolled around to the nearby VW plant, and to the new Scirocco. We were able to pull up some pictures (prototype or already released in another market???...can't remember which). The pic within this link looks very similar to the pictures we were able to pull up.

Are you viewing it with Safari ? I'm still getting the 404, both with IE and with Firefox.

You probably have the original cached. Shortly after you first posted, the link worked when I first viewed it with Safari on my phone. I then later came onto the home computer to view it again so I could see larger pics. Got the 404.

If you remove '/<br%20/>' from the first link, it works fine.

I like the front a lot, the rear is too vanilla for my taste. I bet it's fun to drive though.

No idea man. I did it through Tapatalk. I can agree with you on the fun to drive part.

^^^^^ This.

I saw a Porsche Panamera earlier today and I see a 'family resemblance'....namely re the lower front end area and the area around the rear side windows.

Too steep for me. Besides I'll never buy another VW after my experience with my Golf. Oh yeah...can't buy it here anyhow.

I'm with NYC-SE on this one. I had a HORRIBLE experience with a VW Golf, and will never buy another VW. What VW doesn't tell you is how hard it is to find a competent mechanic to work on your car (if you don't want to go to the stealership), how expensive the parts will be, and how generally unreliable their stuff is. I even had trouble keeping my gas peddle engaged to the cable, that piece of crap was so bad (came disengaged from the cable half a dozen times IN TRAFFIC). And the car was in the shop, I sh*t you not, every two months or sooner. I'm sticking with Japanese cars for life, as long as they keep their quality up. I've had my Yaris 4 years/4 months---zero problems. It's a no brainer for me. But that's just me....

I'm not impressed by German engineering.

In 195,000 + miles on my GTI, the clutch never went out.......but lots of other things did ,
