I saw a while back a post regarding stuck fuel Guage and cleaning the contacts on the sender. Is there a step by step anywhere? And how well does it work? What's the best way to test after?
Thx

If you are going to go through the hassle of pulling the fuel sender (remove rear seat, open floor hatch, remove gas tank top), you should probably just plan to replace it.
You can try using a good fuel system cleanser first, as that may help.

You typically have to purchase an entire fuel sender unit to get one, as Toyota doesn't sell them separately. If you are interested I actually have just the fuel level sender on hand from a fuel sender assembly that I used for calibrating fuel pressure regulators. I could do $25 shipped on it.

I'm going to pull it this weekend to try and clean it, the car did sit for 6 months. If that doesn't do it I pm you.
