My brother lives in Houston and he says in summer, on a hot day, his car has to be excessively cranked to start it. Not when its "cold" but if you run the engine so its warm, shut it down and have to restart soon after (like going to the store).

What would cause this?:iono:

Thanks!

. I saw the title for your thread and thought....'I've been in New Jersey and in the Philadelphia area during hot summer weather and it doesn't get THAT hot there....at least not consistently'. After clicking on your post, I realized you were discussing Houston. Sometime within the last few years, I posed a question in the middle of a thread here asking about the effect of heat on battery life in vehicles. CTScott posted a typical wonderfully erudite and succinct reply to that question I posed. Perhaps he will see this thread and shed more light on the question you posed.
