Serpentine belt replacement - dumb question

So I'm changing my serpentine belt since the one that came with the car was very old and squeaky, I have a question though, after installing the new Goodyear gatorback, every time I start the A/C, the main engine fan kicks in. Does anybody know if this is regular behavior for this car?

It is that way with all cars. The condenser has to be cooled for the AC to work.
