Will a 15mm spacer on the rear require me to shorten the stock lug nuts in order not to hit the back of the wheel?

Do you mean the spacers that come with their own studs and bolts to attach to the existing factory studs?

If so, most wheels have groves in the rear for the factory studs, if no grove you will have to trim facorty studs, order shorter studs, order longer studs and stand alone 15mm spacer, or dremel groves into the rear of the wheel (not recommended).

I ran 20mm spacers (H&R drm) and the factory studs stuck out past the 20mm spacer.

If you are talking about bolt on spacers, then the only way you could get away with not hitting the back of the wheel is if you had a wheel with the indentions on the rear of the wheel. if not our studs stick out about an inch so the smallest bolt on spacer that you could use without modification would have to be a 25mm spacer.

Following his other threads, it would appear he is still referring to this;

Would these be appropriate? http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k538/dmvmotorsports/BIG-fixed%20length/BS006.jpg

Basically the back of your wheel would have to look like this.
