Yesterday I got into my 2008 Yaris Hatchback and tried to turn it on but it wouldn't start. It didn't make any noise. The head lights came on and all the warning lights inside the car did as well. I turned the key four times and finally it turned on. I drove the car for about 40 minutes until I came home. When I came home and turned the car off, I tried starting it again to see if I would have the same problem. The car wouldn't start again. I knew the battery wasn't dead because I just drove around for a while and I replaced it 3 months ago. I left the car overnight and tried it again this morning and it still wouldn't turn on. The key would turn but it wouldn't make any noise. I called a car garage and they said to get it towed to their shop and that it was probably the starter or a fuse.

I called a different guy who did body work on my car a few months ago and he told me it's probably just a loose wire. I can't remember what he told me the wire was called or what it's connected to (I know very little about cars).
He said that the plastic on the end of the wire that makes the connection often cracks off due to the heat of the engine. I found the wire and plugged it back in and my car is working fine. I will need to however, tape the wire for a better hold or order a new part because it seems a bit loose.

I hope this helps anyone with their car troubles.

Sorry about the blurry pictures:frown:

I've never heard of a connector cracking or breaking off the starter. It's possible something hit it and broke it.
