If you want to try something new, before making a post... search these boards, search the net, and come up with the parts/method/cost yourself... THEN post.
You may have pioneered something new and awesome, instead of following in the footsteps of someone else. At worst someone gives you advice on how to do it better/cheaper, and through your research you ALREADY have a good understanding of what you want to do and it makes the job that much easier.
Thats how the best contributions get made!
Just a random post

I agree. Often there is a better way that no-one has tried yet. An example could be Chnios intake. No SRI is available so he pioneered one. Another example could be the roof rack on my car. There is no option available for the HB, so I decided on an option that is far more stable than any bolt on product. Just had to sack-up and drill 16 holes in my roof. No-one had done these, but the finished products are great.

agreed, mad props from myself to echo_hrs for taking a chance on the xB leather shift boot, it's really the classiest touch to the interior

Exactly! Where would we be without those folks that try something new. Of course not EVERYONE will come up with something new, thats impossible... but if everyone at least took on the pioneer spirit, we'd see lots of spiffy new mods!

Bump.
Not to be a negative Nancy, but this site blows lately. Nobody doing anything around here anymore that makes me say wow. I yawn a lot.
Somebody do something impressive. Please.

Well I'm trying to put together a Turbo Kit that delivers 4psi of boost...
Enough to push the car to about 130whp maybe 140... Without replacing a single piece on the car!
No New Clutch
No New Pistons
And I am doing everything in my power to keep it under a Grand!
Is that Pioneer Enough for you?
Also Chino... I will do everything in my power to incorperate your Intake into the Turbo Kit!

Screw my intake... if you're going to build a turbo kit do it to it! Slap a filter on the inlet and call it a day.

I got a little project going to run the fogs as DRLs, without any wire splicing or cutting. Thats me pioneering.
Next: learn how to solder!

Not promising...got too many projects going....but will make some adapters to mount BABY MOONs within a month. Due to tire balance, don't want to cobble....will use laser at work to cut symetrical (much faster than machining). Not for the Rice crowd but old school with trim rings is what I'm after.

are you basicly talking about just having a "start" button instead of a turn key? similar to that of the Prius?

well it would be just a DIY, nothing quite plug and play, basic soldering skills required. Nothing as fancy as the actual Toyota keyless system where you push the start button once for accessory power and a second time for ignition... But we'll see... gotta order parts first...

I had a spare front badge that I already pulled apart to separate the chrome from the black backing. I'm waiting on a can on VHT window tint spray to arrive and I am going to prep and spray all of the badges a smoked chrome. The NCP91 goes where Yaris used to be. I have never seen a car badged with the chassis code, so I figured why not! Total cost of the project is all of a whopping 35 bucks or so. Of course there will be a full DIY. Expect it in mid July... the spray wont be here for a week or so.
For the record, the badge pictured was only $18 shipped. It arrived at my door in three days as promised. Great service, and looks like a quality product.
